The Kefauver Studio & Gallery, Damariscotta, presents “Monhegan Days,” now through Sept. 25. The show features new work by oil painter Will Kefauver, and the work of his 17 guest artists. This show celebrates the magic of Monhegan Island, the architecture, cliffs and coves, the birds, and moored boats.

The “Monhegan Days” guest artists represent a wide-range of mediums and styles. Visitors to the gallery will see the work of photographers Claudia Griffiths, Melanie Howe, and Polariod manipulation by Steve Dunn; oil painters Albert Bross, Jr., Sandra Dunn, Sally Loughridge, and Helen Warner; watercolorists Peggy Farrell, Virginia Forrest, Lydia Kaeyer, and Jan Kilburn; pastel artists Kay Hanna, Nancy Lovley, and DiTa Ondek; linocut printmaker Deborah Kozak, acrylic painter Dale Dapkins; and Judy Nixon, who works in both watercolor and acrylics.

Kefauver is an award-winning oil painter, specializing in landscapes. He returned to painting after many years in the publishing industry as an illustrator, graphic designer, art director, and executive.  He has both studied and been an instructor at the School of Visual Arts and the Katonah Arts Center in New York.

Will Kefauver is an elected artist and President of the Pemaquid Group of Artists.  He is a Signature Member of the National Society of Artists and the Bristol Road Galleries in Damariscotta. Kefauver also teaches beginning and intermediate painting classes in oils and acrylics for teens and adults in his studio.

“Monhegan Days” is the fourth of five shows presented this year at the Kefauver Studio & Gallery.  Each month will find a new show, with new guest artists exhibiting.
