The trip to the Farnsworth — our first excursion in the new van — was a roaring success. We look forward to the next outing, on July 1, to the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath for the exhibit on lighthouses. Those who are interested in this trip should contact the office quickly as space is extremely limited.

On Saturday, June 24, Dr. Patty Phillips will be speaking about "Nutrition for Better Brain Health," which is all about improving your memory by what you eat. There will be a food demonstration with a tasting and a good question and answer period. Later in the day on Saturday, the Drum Circle will meet in the Annex. This is a freestyle Drum Circle and is open to all ages and all percussion instruments are welcome. No experience is necessary. Looking ahead, there will be a wonderful acrylic painting class called “Putting the Life into Still Life.”

Don’t forget that we are slipping into summer hours in July and August — that means we will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday with evening and weekend programs as usual. Our ventures in the van will take us out of the Center and into the world of summer excursions. It is after all, summer in Maine, and time to get out into the world.
