News and Notes from The Community Center

Thanks to all our bakers and buyers, the Third Annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale was a roaring success!

We were able to offer 90+ pies to grace Thanksgiving tables far and wide — it was great fun to hear just where the pies were going.  Jane is still getting messages of praise for our pie chefs.  Again, thanks.

Looking ahead into the season, we have Dr. Patty Phillips’ Nutritional Workshop on Monday, Dec. 18.  This time, she will be conducting a shopping trip to Hannaford’s. We will see how to read labels and how to choose healthy foods for a better outcome.  Most important, she will show that a healthy eating plan need not be costly. Workshop participants will meet at the Community Center at 10 a.m.  Those who wish to participate should call or drop by to sign up as this will be a popular workshop.

The Annual Christmas Silent Auction will begin on Monday, Dec. 11 and continue until Friday, Dec. 22.  In years past, this has proven to be a special shopping adventure and offers an opportunity to find unusual one-of-a-kind gifts for your family and friends.

Don’t forget that we have antiques appraisals conducted by Richard Plunkett, a licensed appraiser, on the first Tuesday of each month beginning this Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Call to be picked up by our van or for information about all of our offerings. 633-9876.
