The Ocean Gate Resort, 70 Ocean Gate Rd., Southport, has recently sold for an undisclosed purchase price. Built in 1956, the 65-unit property boasts 32+ acres, 1400 ft. of ocean frontage and resort amenities. Washington, D.C. based company, The Wardman Group, purchased the hotel from GEM Hospitality Group headed up by Frank Gaynor, who successfully owned and operated the hotel for the past 11 years.

The Wardman Group’s, Thad Paul plans to make further improvements to the property and operations, including a new website, which has been launched. The sale was brokered exclusively by Portland based Daigle Commercial Group. The transaction was completed and transfer of title took place on December 1, 2017.
