Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts welcomes visitors to their campus for open studio visits and a pottery sale on Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct, 12 as part of Maine Craft Weekend, a state-wide tour of craft studios and breweries.

Modeled after Maine Maple Sunday and Buy Local Saturday, this self-guided tour features craftspeople throughout Maine who are hosting special events and demonstrations for the public.

A variety of work by Watershed-affiliated artists will be featured in the pottery sale, from sculptural and decorative ceramics to functional items for everyday use including cups, bowls, plates and beer steins. Visitors will find one-of-a-kind pieces that make great gifts or they can purchase their favorite beer stein to take along to the local breweries over the course of Craft Weekend.

Guests can also meet the Watershed fall resident artists and learn about their work during tours of the studios and kiln facilities. Area artists participating in the pottery sale include Ingrid Bathe, Jemma Gascoine, Ann Hedgecock, Jonathan Mess, Liz Proffetty, Malley Weber and Nathan Willever.

Watershed will be open on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located at 19 Brick Hill Road in Newcastle.
