Dear Editor:

On Friday, Dec. 1, the 1st and 2nd grade teachers at Boothbay Region Elementary School hosted a “Parents Night Out” for students in grade 1-3. Students stayed at school from dismissal until 9 p.m. enjoying crafts, cookie decorating, a Christmas movie, pizza and cookies donated by Pier One Pizza and Eventide, and gym games. The money raised goes towards 1st and 2nd grade field trips, extra classroom supplies, books, etc.

We had 25 students join us and hope to do a similar event in the spring. Students loved being in the school past dark!

Local businesses who also donated to the fundraiser included Pier One Pizza, Boothbay Region Greenhouses, Eventide, Janson’s Clothing, Sherman’s Book Store, Coastal Maine Popcorn, House of Logan and Two Salty Dogs
