“Manchester by the Sea” - Lee Chandler (Casey Affleck) is shocked to learn that his brother Joe (Kyle Chandler) has died and made Lee sole guardian of his nephew Patrick (Lucas Hedges). Taking leave of his job, Lee reluctantly returns to Manchester-by-the-Sea to care for Patrick, a spirited 16-year-old. Once he returns he is forced to deal with a past that separated him from his wife Randi (Michelle Williams) and the community where he was born and raised. Bonded by the man who held their family together, Lee and Patrick struggle to adjust to a world without him.

In addition to near unanimous critical reviews, "Manchester By the Sea" star Casey Affleck was recently awarded the Golden Globe for “Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture.” Rated R, with a running time of 133 minutes, it plays Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m.

“Hidden Figures” - The true story about three brilliant African-American women at NASA - Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe). They served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn (Glen Powell) into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race and galvanized the world.

Time Magazine describes "Hidden Figures"  as “ … both a dazzling piece of entertainment and a window into history ...” Rated PG with a running time of 127 minutes, it plays at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, Saturday, Jan. 21, Wednesday, Jan. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 26; and Sunday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m.

Lincoln Theater

“The Eagle Huntress” - A lovely, inspiring documentary about a 13-year-old girl in Kazakhstan who defies tradition and captures and trains a golden eagle, The Eagle Huntress follows Aisholpan as she trains to become the first female in twelve generations of her Kazakh family to become an eagle hunter. Rated G. Final screenings Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 19 at 2 and 7 p.m.

The 45th Presidential Inauguration - Following the tradition started eight years ago, Lincoln Theater will broadcast the Inauguration on Friday, Jan. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a free event and all are welcome.

“The Crown” - See episodes five and six of the Netflix series. In “Smoke and Mirrors,” Elizabeth rejects protocol by appointing Phillip to coordinate her coronation, but his ideas create conflict. The Duke of Windsor returns to London. Then, in “Gelignite,” Margaret and Peter come to Elizabeth with a request. With a royal scandal about to break in the newspapers, the Queen Mother intervenes. “Miss Sloane” - In the high-stakes world of political power-brokers, Elizabeth Sloane (Jessica Chastain) is the most sought after and formidable lobbyist in D.C. But when taking on the most powerful opponent of her career, she finds winning may come at too high a price. Rated R. Playing at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, Saturday, Jan. 21 and Sunday, Jan. 22; and at 2 & 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 2 and Thursday, Jan. 26.

The Met Live in HD: Gounod's “Roméo et Juliette” - The electrifying team of Vittorio Grigolo and Diana Damrau reunites for a new production of Gounod’s opera based on the Shakespeare play. Playing Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. Pre-Opera Talk with Dr. Morton Achter, Shakespeare's Legacy to Opera, at 11:45 a.m.

The Bolshoi Ballet: - “The Sleeping Beauty” In this resplendent and magical classic, the Bolshoi dancers take us on a dream¬-like journey through this classic fairytale complete with jewel fairies, a magical kingdom, a youthful princess and a handsome prince in this purest style of classical ballet. Playing Sunday, Jan. 22 at 1 p.m.
