Pleased with church’s services

Tue, 05/08/2018 - 9:00am

    Dear Editor:

For some time, whenever possible, my daughter and I, along with her husband, have been attending Sunday services of the non-denominational fellowship, The Anchor. For a time, they met at The Gallery on Ocean Point Road. Now they meet at the Rotary Club on Montgomery Road at 4 p.m. on Sundays.

This is the most child-friendly group I have ever attended. Children of all ages are welcome, youthful distractions — crying and youthful exuberance are respectfully tolerated. Children remain with their parents or with friends during the service. Coloring books, paper or toys may be brought and some are provided. This is convenient for those with young children, as is also the timing of the service for those who have to work, which was one of the drawing cards for us.

The service is followed by a bountiful potluck meal to which all may contribute, although this is not mandatory. All usually culminates by 6:30 p.m.

All are welcome and will find a friendly atmosphere, spiritual guidance, fellowship and an opportunity to worship.

When weather conditions warm, the group will be meeting at Barrett’s Park for the summer. When possible, bring your own chairs when meeting at the park.
