Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Bob Hasch said two men have been arrested in connection with a burglary on Barrows Road last week.

On March 24, Officer Scott Mercier responded to a report that over $7,000 in tools had been stolen from a residence and tool trailer, which were damaged during the incident. As a result of the investigation, Boothbay Harbor Police Department conducted searches at locations in Boothbay Harbor, Southport and Bowdoinham on March 30 and recovered all stolen items, which were returned to their owners.

On March 30, Officers Tom Chryplewicz and Devin Polizzotti arrested Warner Hinckley, 45, of Southport, and charged him with Class C Burglary and Class C Theft. On March 31, Chryplewicz arrested Shawn Doyen, 34, of Boothbay Harbor and charged him with Class C Burglary and Class C Theft. Both men were taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset and were released after posting bail.

Hasch said a team investigative effort — which included himself, Sgt. Pat Higgins and Officer Larry Brown, as well as Mercier, Chryplewicz and Polizzotti — along with tips from the public, were key to the speedy resolution of this case.
