Replacing inference with evidence

Mon, 10/02/2017 - 3:30pm

    Dear Editor:

It is my belief that Colin Kaepernick began kneeling during the National Anthem primarily because President Obama convinced him, and millions of other African-Americans, that too many urban white police officers are targeting, terrorizing, and even murdering innocent black people, and that there is an unaddressed epidemic of institutional white racism in this country. It is also my belief that any claims of Second Amendment ‘rights’ and disrespect for flag and country regarding the protests are simply false.

The NFL is already in trouble due to plummeting ratings and the concussion class-action lawsuits, and this misunderstood kneeling display could push them even closer to the fiscal edge. Perhaps the one thing that could enhance their marketability would be to get up off their knees, reach into their large wallets, and prove with hard investigative evidence whether Obama’s very serious claims of institutionalized white racism, especially within law enforcement, are true and accurate in each of their team cities.

Everyone in America would benefit, especially the legions of good cops and law-abiding inner-city youths.
