Rocky’s Ace Hardware, a family-owned business with neighborhood-based stores in six states, likes to give back to the communities in which they are located. Throughout the year, the company organizes collection drives and fundraisers, benefiting humans and furry friends alike. Rocky’s Bath, Maine location holds “Community Day” during the month of September with funds helping to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

“The work done by the Make-A-Wish Foundation is truly life-changing,” said Rocky’s Ace Hardware President and CEO, Rocco Falcone. “It is heartwarming to see the outpouring of support by our customers each year to help children in need. Our employees organize the event and we owe a great deal of gratitude to those who attend and contribute to the cause.”

Community Day encourages conversation and camaraderie over hot dogs and other refreshments. Live, radio broadcasts, in-store product demonstrations and a silent auction add to the day’s excitement.

“This year, we were able to raise $6,000 for the Foundation,” said Falcone. “Each year, we have a goal in mind and our customers continue to exceed our expectations. This year was no exception.”

A donation was made on behalf of Rocky’s Ace Hardware to Make-A-Wish Maine. Proceeds will directly benefit medically eligible children and their families in Maine. Make-A-Wish's objective is to create memorable wish experiences for both the child and family that is not clouded by financial concerns. All wish expenses are fully covered, including all travel and spending money when appropriate.
