All veterans and their spouses, active duty personnel and Blue Star families are invited to a special dinner given in their honor.

Every year since 2006, the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club has honored our veterans and actives with a special dinner and program given during the week of Veterans Day. This year, the festivities will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Rotary Clubhouse, 66 Montgomery Road, Boothbay Harbor.

The evening will begin with cocktails at 6; dinner will be served at 6:30. Veterans and actives are encouraged (but not required) to wear military uniform or veterans’ organization insignia.

Keynoter for the evening will be Dr. Francesca Giovannini, an expert on nuclear disarmament. She will speak on U.S. priorities, dilemmas, and challenges in a time of nuclear disorder. Francesca is a Rotary scholar and the program director for Global Security and International Affairs at the American Academy for Arts & Sciences in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

There is no charge for veterans and actives, but reservations are essential: Call 207-633-7300 by Monday, Nov. 6, to reserve your place. The Rotarians look forward to seeing you that evening!
