Sandra J. Sprague, 64, of Boothbay Harbor died peacefully at her home on Jan. 19, 2015. Sandra was born in Sussex, Wisconsin to James Ramsey and Solvic (Johansen) Ramsey. She moved to Bowdoin, where she attended school, and then moved to Bath and graduated from Morse High School.

Sandra met the love of her life, Edward Sprague Jr., in Bath and married him in 1967. They moved to Boothbay Harbor into their own home on Howard Street. While Ed was in Vietnam, Sandra went to live with his parents, and upon his return, they moved to West Street. Sandra and Ed eventually moved to their forever home, where they raised their children and lived together for 43 years.

Sandra worked as a chambermaid at the Spruce Point Inn and then worked as head chambermaid at Fisherman's Wharf for over 30 years.

Sandra liked to go camping and dancing in her younger days. Later in life, she enjoyed bird watching, knitting afghans for all the kids, and spending time with her loving family. Her great-grandson, Caleb, brought her a lot of joy, and she especially loved hearing him say “I’ll be back!”

Sandra was famous for her cakes and homemade bread. Sandra and her sister-in-law, Sue, spent many a Christmas season enjoying one another’s company out shopping for their families. Sandra loved connecting with her friends and family on Facebook, always keeping in touch and letting them know she was there for them. Sandra really looked forward to going over to her sister’s and her brother-in-law’s on Saturdays and Sundays in the evening.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 48 years, Edward Sprague Jr. of Boothbay Harbor; son, Bradley Sprague of Boothbay Harbor; sister, Connie Pinkham of Boothbay Harbor; brothers, Johnny Ramsey of Boothbay and Billy Ramsey of Bath; granddaughter, Jamie Sprague and her partner, Josh Stover, of Wiscasset; grandson, Dillion Sabins-Sprague of Boothbay Harbor; great-grandson, Caleb Stover, of Wiscasset.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held on Monday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m., at Hall’s of Boothbay.
