Three people were hurt in a two-car crash on Wiscasset’s Route 1, shortly before 4 p.m. August 16, police said. None of the injuries appeared life-threatening, Reserve Officer Robert McFetridge of the Wiscasset Police Department said at the scene, near Maine Heritage Village.

The crash, which slowed both northbound and southbound traffic, was the town’s second one on Route 1 Saturday. A morning accident critically injured a motorcyclist from New Jersey and injured a Damariscotta man driving the car the motorcycle collided with, McFetridge said.

The later crash appeared to be either a head-on or partial head-on collision, he said. Two people were taken by ambulance to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick; a third person was receiving treatment at the scene.

Wiscasset police, fire and ambulance crews received help at the scene from Bath rescue workers.
