Southport Church Fair thank you

    Dear Editor:

A heartfelt “Thank You” to all who helped to make our church fair on July 19 another great success! We’re amazed each year at all the donations we receive and at the number of people who volunteer countless hours of their time to help make it all come together.

Thank you to our amazing kitchen crew who, under the direction of Kathy and Barb, served a delicious lobster roll luncheon to about 240. Special thanks to Molly and Erin, to the Southport General Store, Robinson’s Wharf and to those who made donations to help offset expenses.

We also greatly appreciate all the donations to our Silent Auction from area businesses and individuals. This is a much loved part of the Fair and it is possible only because of your generosity.

Most importantly, thank you to each of you who came and spent a little of your day with us. Whether you came to enjoy the luncheon, to fill a can with cookies, buy some delicious goodies or plants, bid at the silent auction, restock your book supply, shop the tables of treasures, or just to see what we are all about, we do hope you had fun.

Shoppers had a second chance to shop the Fair this year as we sponsored and took part in the Island Yard Sale on the 22nd. Thank you to all the Islanders who joined us.

With the success of the Fair we will be able to maintain our little “Church on the Hill” and to fulfill our ministry to the community, and to be able to help when and where there is a need.

We are blessed to be a part of such a supportive community. Thanks again to everyone!
