Sports auctions include more than 50 items

The Boothbay Charities Classic (BCC) sports auctions help raise a lot of money each year for Special Olympics Maine. This year, BCC committee member Tom Erskine and other committee members have collected over 50 items for the silent and live auction on Friday, Sept. 26 at the Boothbay Railway Village.

The silent auction will be held from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. and live auction will begin at 6 p.m. under the tent at the Village. The BCC committee invites the public to come the event and support Special Olympics Maine by bidding high and often.

Below is a list of items being offered.

Live auction items

1. A 1,380-piece wooden bowl crafted by East Boothbay wood bowl maker Lou Landry. A phone bid of $800 has already been made on the bowl.

2. A baseball bat autographed by Boston Red Sox outfielder and Hall of Famer Jim Rice.

3. An autographed print of the Los Angeles Rams "Fearsome Foursome."

4. Snowboarding lessons by two-time Olympic champion Seth Westcott.

5. An autographed David "Big Papi" Ortiz Boston Red Sox jersey.

6. A football autographed by New York Giants Michael Strahan and Tiki Barber.

7. An autographed Boston Bruins jersey from Hall of Famer Ray Bourque.

8. A coastal print from local artist Nathan Campbell.

9. A 2013 Sports Illustrated issue featuring World Series champions Boston Red Sox

10. Two tickets to Madison Square Garden hockey game between the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins on February 4, 2015.

11. A memory foam mattress (any size) donated by the Sleep Studio.

12. Portland Pirates tickets.

13. Football items from Garo Yepremian, Roger Wehrli and Garin Veris.

Silent auction items

1. Two one-day lift passes for skiing at Sugarloaf.

2. Two one-day lift passes for skiing at Sunday River.

3. Whitewater rafting for two from Moxie Outdoor Adventures.

4. A golf outing for a foursome at Nonesuch Golf Course in Scarborough.

5. A golf outing for a foursome at Poland Springs Golf Course.

6. A golf outing for two at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Auburn.

7. One greens fee at Spring Meadows Golf Course in Gray.

8. A mountain bike adventure and overnight for two with meals from Back Country Excursions.

9. Introductory tandem skydiving instruction from Sky Dive New England.

10. A print of the locally built, Antonisa, by East Boothbay artist Corinne McIntyre.

13. An autographed baseball from Boston Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz.

16. A striper fishing trip during the 2015 season from Captain Jay Reynolds.

17. Four autographed baseball caps from the National Hockey League.

There will also be several specialty baskets with items donated by area businesses.
