Approximately 25 people enjoyed a pancake and sausage breakfast at the YMCA on Monday morning, Nov. 17.

The group, Active Older Adults, came in smaller groups on Monday morning at different times, after attending their morning exercise classes.

Doris Welch, administrative assistant and fund development office employee, was in the kitchen flipping pancakes.

“At the Y we wear many hats,” she said.

Guests were served a choice of pancakes: plain, blueberry or pumpkin; plus link sausages, fruit, coffeecake, orange juice and coffee.

The cost for the breakfast was $3 and a donation to the food pantry.

Welch said there have been other meal gatherings for the Active Older Adults club, but this was the first breakfast.

“We decided to do this in November, because November is a month of giving thanks,” Welch said.

Other Y employees helping out with the breakfast were Carrie Eason, membership services and front desk supervisor; and Rose Mooney, facilities director. Executive Director Andy Hamblett was also there, socializing and serving coffee.
