“Going In Style”  -  Oscar winners Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin team up as lifelong buddies Willie, Joe and Al, who decide to buck retirement and step off the straight-and-narrow for the first time in their lives when their pension fund becomes a corporate casualty, in director Zach Braff’s comedy. Desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, the three risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money. 

The film also stars two-time Oscar nominee Ann-Margret as Annie, a grocery cashier who’s been checking Al out in more ways than one and Joey King, Matt Dillon,  Christopher Lloyd, John Ortiz, and Peter Serafinowicz.  "Going in Style"  (PG) ) plays Wednesday, May 3  and Thursday, May 4 at 7 p.m. 

"The Zookeeper's Wife" - The real-life story of one working wife and mother who became a hero to hundreds during World War II. In 1939 Poland, Antonina Żabińska (portrayed by two-time
Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain) and her husband, Dr. Jan Żabiński (Johan Heldenbergh), have the Warsaw Zoo flourishing under his stewardship and her care.

When their country is invaded by the Germans, Jan and Antonina are stunned - and forced to report to the Reich's newly appointed chief zoologist, Lutz Heck (Daniel Brühl). To fight back on their own terms, Antonina and Jan covertly begin working with the Resistance - and put into action plans to save lives out of what has become the Warsaw Ghetto, with Antonina putting herself and even her children at great risk.

"The Zookeeper's Wife" (PG13) plays at 7 p.m. Friday, May 5, Saturday, May 6, Wednesday, May10 and Thursday, May 11 and Sunday, May 7 at 2 and 7 p.m.

“Macbeth” - Giuseppe Verdi felt inspired by Shakespeare’s work and his devotion led to the first opera based on one of the writer’s texts, Macbeth. Verdi’s enthusiasm gave him the will of achieving “something extraordinary” with the iconic writers work. In this version, Christof Loy directs the action in a classic timeless space with surrealistic touches dominated by blacks and whites, adding to the great dramatic intensity.

General of the victorious Scottish armies, Macbeth (Ludovic Tézier) hears a prophecy from three witches that predict he will be the next King of Scotland. Believing this premonition, his wife encourages him to kill the King. His divine right drives Macbeth to be bloodthirsty with friends and opponents alike, but alone and racked with guilt, he faces his last battle and death. Martina Serafin stars as Lady Macbeth.

“Macbeth” is an Italian opera in 4 acts, (with English subtitles). It was recorded on Oct. 20, 2016 from the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona with the Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

Macbeth” has a running time 152 minutes and plays Wednesday, May 10 at 2 p.m. Opera tickets available at the door. Adults/$16, seniors/$14 and children/$14, Theatre members $12.

Cinema Experience: Prize Event ( 2 hours, 15 minutes)  -  Cinema-goers will get to watch with their communities as the TED Prize winner receives a $1 million award towards a creative, bold wish to spark global change. By investing in a powerful idea every year, the TED Prize accelerates progress toward solving some of the world's most pressing issues. Talks by tennis star Serena Williams; physician/author Atul Gawande; journalist Gayle King; dancers Jon Boogz and Lil Buck; physician Raj Panjabi; special appearance by a surprise guest, who is a “world figure.” Thursday, May 4 at 7 p.m.

“I Am Not Your Negro”  -  In 1979, James Baldwin wrote a letter to his literary agent describing his next project, "Remember This House." The book was to be a revolutionary, personal account of the lives and assassinations of three of his close friends: Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr.  At the time of Baldwin's death in 1987, he left behind only 30 completed pages of this manuscript. Filmmaker Raoul Peck envisions the book James Baldwin never finished.  (PG-13; 1 hour, 33 minutes) Playing Fri May 5 at 2 PM & 7 PM, Sat May 6 at 2 PM & 7 PM, Sun May 7 at 7 PM. “Heidi” (1937) Stories to Screen - Kid Power - A plucky little orphan girl (Shirley Temple) gets dumped abruptly into her gruff, hermit grandfather's care, then later gets retaken and delivered as a companion for an injured girl. 90 minutesPlaying Saturday, May 6 at 10 a.m.  Free event.

T.E.D. Cinema Experience: Highlights Exclusive (2 hours, 15 minutes)  -  TED will be opened up for the public like never before, with a program created exclusively for cinema audiences. This event will give a first-of-its-kind look at the TED2017 conference experience, driven by revelatory TED Talks and performances captured live that highlight some of the most insightful, inspiring and exciting moments of the week-long TED2017.  None of the presenters will have been seen previously. Sunday, May 7 at 2 p.m.
