‘Think Spring’ at River Arts

River Arts’  newest exhibition, "Think Spring"  is on display through Sunday, April 9. The gallery is carrying us cheerfully into springtime images of whimsy, blooming flowers, baseball, garden paths, and some of the best looking fish in town.  Full of fun and imaginative interpretations of spring, this show is bringing smiles to everyone who comes in.
 
The juror for this exhibition was Andres Verzosa. Veroza is the founder of Portland’s First Friday Art Walk and has been a contributing arts columnist and reviewer for Art New England. He is most commonly associated with Aucocisco Galleries in Portland, which he owned and directed. Verosa recently served as Interim Executive Director and Curator at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art where he curated the museum’s first outdoor solo exhibition by contemporary sculptor Gary Haven Smith as well as the 2017 exhibition schedule that includes exhibits by Dahlov Ipcar, Will Barnet, John Marin, Cabot Lyford, and a World War I exhibition from OMAA’s permanent collection. He also guest curated five exhibitions as part of the Maine Photo Project.

River Arts is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Closed Mondays. River Arts is located at 241 U.S. Route 1 in Damariscotta.
