Boothbay Harbor based artist Thomas Block will be exhibiting selected works in watercolor and egg tempera at The First Bank in Boothbay Harbor from Sept. 30 through Nov. 30.

Thomas retired from teaching art in the Midcoast after 38 years to continue a career in book illustration and fine art.

He has illustrated 20 books since 2011, the most recent release is “Bear Moonlight Sonata” by author Steven Powell. A book signing is scheduled for Oct. 3 from 1-3 p.m. at Sherman’s Book & Stationery on Commercial Street, also in Boothbay Harbor.

Thomas Block serves on the board of directors at Boothbay Region Art Foundation and exhibits there throughout the year, as well as other area venues.
