'Unforgettable grandmother stories' requested by Anna B.’s Shop

Sun, 07/30/2017 - 8:00am

Anna B.’s Barn Shop on Route 209 in Phippsburg opened its doors last month with antiques and artcrafts which reflect the life of a hardworking farm woman, Anna Barbara, the grandmother of the owner. Canning jars, quilts, enamelware, tea cups and tea pots, along with vintage dishes and glassware are all featured in the Barn Shop. These items are reminiscent of a simpler life, the world in which Anna Barbara lived, with time for board games, books, and crafts.

In celebration of grandmothers, Anna B.’s is holding a contest for the most unique grandmom story. All are welcome to enter on a 4" x 6” index card with a paragraph on why their grandmother is unforgettable. All entries will be featured in the Shop on the inside of the barn door. Entries will be accepted until Sept. 1.

Stories can be dropped off at the Shop from Thursday-Monday (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) or mail them to Anna B.’s, 6 Parker Head Rd., Phippsburg, ME 04562. Call 632-7101 with any questions regarding the grandmother contest or for directions to the Shop.

Gift certificates to the Shop will be awarded to three winners on Grandparents Day, September 10. Contest winners do not need to be present and all three winners will be notified.
