The Rev. Sarah Foulger returns from vacation this Sunday, April 30 to lead worship. On behalf of the Mission Committee, she will welcome the Rev. Darren L. Morgan, associate conference minister of the Maine Conference, United Church of Christ, into the pulpit. Morgan will preach a sermon entitled, “The Unrecognizable Journey” based on Sunday’s lectionary Gospel reading, Luke 24:13-35.

Before his call to serve the Maine Conference, Rev. Morgan was a bi-vocational minister, serving as the pastor of the Brownville Community Church, UCC in Brownville, and working full time with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services as a licensed social worker. He last served as the regional manager in the Office of Adult Mental Health Services, overseeing all contracted and state-run community mental health services in the five northern Maine counties.

Rev. Morgan holds an associate of applied science in law enforcement technology from Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in South Portland; a bachelor of science in liberal arts from the University of the State of New York, Albany, New York; a master of theological studies and a master of divinity (with honors) from Bangor Theological Seminary in Bangor.
