Update: Several news outlets, the Brunswick police and a family spokesperson have reported that the body of Daniel Gagnon, 26, of Brunswick was found around 11 a.m. Wednesday in a heavily wooded area off River Road in Brunswick.

The Brunswick Police Department issued the following statement on its Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon, following a search by the Maine Warden Service, Maine Search and Rescue Dogs, and members of the Police Department: “Mr. Gagnon's body was discovered in a densely wooded area off the River Road. His death is not considered suspicious and continues to be investigated by the Maine Medical Examiner and the Brunswick Police Department. We would like thank everyone who called with information, or volunteered to search, during the last week. Our thoughts are with Mr. Gagnon's family during this difficult time.”

Original post: Despite several searches and no definite leads, Daniel Gagnon, 26, of Brunswick, formerly of Boothbay Harbor, has not been found after going missing over a week ago.

The Brunswick Police Department issued a notice on Gagnon’s disappearance on its Facebook page on Thursday, May 31, asking for the public’s help in locating him after he left his residence on foot on Wednesday afternoon, May 30 and hadn’t been seen since. Friends and relatives have organized searches near his residence on Pleasant Street and in other locations, including where police received a ping from his cell phone. The Maine Warden Service has also assisted in the search.

Gagnon worked as a security guard at Bowdoin College in Brunswick and grew up in Boothbay Harbor.

He is described as 5-foot and 11 inches tall with brown hair and green eyes. He is closer to 210 pounds than the weight police released last week based on his driver’s license, according to Brunswick Police Cmdr. Tom Garrepy.

Gagnon was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, black socks and was possibly wearing white Adidas sandals.

Anyone with information about where Gagnon may be should call the Brunswick Police Department at (207) 721-4301.
