Tue, 04/10/2018 - 10:00am

Habitat 7 Rivers’ 25th annual Spring Walk to Build will take place Sunday, April 29 in Topsham and Brunswick at 2 p.m. The organization’s largest fundraiser will begin at Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church, 84 Main Street in Topsham, and the anticipated 100 walkers will walk the three-mile route. Mid-way, walkers will arrive at First Parish Church on Maine Street in Brunswick where snacks and water will be available for walkers before they begin the return trip to Topsham. The course is on sidewalks and is family-friendly.

“This is a very important Habitat event that the community can help support. To all the volunteers who donate their time, the enthusiastic walkers and their friends, colleagues and relatives who sponsor them with donations, and our generous business sponsors, we say thank you. This generous support makes it possible for us to continue to build new homes, and help homeowners with weatherizing, critical home repairs, and home modifications for older residents throughout our 31-town service area,” said Mark Primeau, Habitat’s executive director.

Businesses supporting the event include: Champion Sponsor - Bath Savings Institution; Silver Sponsors - Ames True Value Hardware and Supply, Mid Coast Hospital, and Goodwin Motor Group; Bronze Sponsors - First Federal Savings & Loan, JHR Development, Down East Credit Union, Morningstar Stone & Tile, Five County Credit Union, Larrabee Insurance, Midcoast Federal Credit Union, and Newcastle Chrysler, Riley Insurance, Hancock Lumber, MW Sewall and Cool as a Moose. Additional business support for Habitat was received from Now You’re Cooking and Wiscasset Ford.
