A Wiscasset man died after an afternoon of boating with his family on Damariscotta Lake on July 9, according to the Maine Warden Service.

Corey Jacques, 42, of Wiscasset, died after falling off his boat at about 4 p.m. on Sunday. The boat was being towed by another boater to Jefferson.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine a cause of death. Jacques was wearing a personal flotation device, according to Maine Warden Service Lt. Kevin Adam.

Adam said the occupants of the boat that was towing Jacques’ boat got him out of the water and performed CPR while bringing him to the Bunker Hill Ramp. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jacques’ wife and daughter were in the boat that was being towed. Neither was injured.

Central Lincoln County Ambulance, the Maine Warden’s Service, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Waldoboro Emergency Medical Services responded.
