Arnold Lane Peacock, 73, a former resident of Boothbay, died Nov. 21, 2018 at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Hess of Portland, Oregon; his son, William Peacock of Amesbury, Massachusetts; and his three grandchildren, Henry Hess, Adelaide Hess and Gemma Peacock.

An avid boatsman, Lane was always happy on the water. Whether it was on his sloop, the Cat’s Paw or his beloved antique Lyman, the Jaded Lady, fellow boaters could often hear Lane’s laugh and Dixieland music before they could see him.

If Lane wasn’t on the water, he was in the woods. He looked forward to every fall and the start of bird and deer seasons when he could walk the woods of Maine.

To truly know Lane was to see him with his dogs. From Brer to Josiah, his golden retrievers accompanied Lane everywhere.

After a successful career in advertising, Lane retired to Rangeley, Maine where he was most known to the community as the proud coordinator and driver of the RRHAT Van, the region’s health appointment transit service.

Per Lane’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
