Arts & Yachts Exhibition and Sale Aug.10-12

    Art demonstrations, interesting stories by boat builders, artists and artisans, food and drink … yes it’s time for the Lincoln Arts Festival’s mid-August Arts & Yachts Exhibition and Sale Aug. 10-12!

    The three-day event, held at Hodgdon Yacht Services on Southport Island ,kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 9 with a reception and preview from 5-7 p.m. Harpist Suki Flanagan will perform and many of the artists will be in attendance – and there’s always a good story or two about the work in the show.

    “Thanks to the Lincoln Arts Festival board and area restaurants, fabulous refreshments will be served,” said Leslie Volpe. “The reception is open to the public and offers the opportunity of a first look at the art work for sale.”

    The exhibition and sale hours on Friday, Aug. 10 and Saturday, Aug. 11 are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday, Aug. 12 hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Participating artists and artisans are … Elise Andersen, Andersen ceramic art; hand-painted silk scarves; Bill Bellows, rug weaver; Alan Braley, wooden assemblage artist; Jill Butke, weaver; John Butke, painter; Rick Dickinson, oil painter; Peter Felsenthal, photographer; Cindy Heil, jewelry; Sue Heil-Kibbe, pastel artist; Don Josephson, artist;  Jennifer Litchfield, painter; Richard Macdonald, stained glass; Leslie Muir-Volpe, fiber artist; Melissa Nein, hand-crafted bags; Suzanne Norton, painted furniture, jewelry; John M.T. Seitzer, artist; Lynne Seitzer, artist; UrsulaSmith, weaver; Christine Andersen Tupper, artist; Villard Studios, white-line woodcut prints and printmaking; Carl Welshman, lighted nautical charts; Rhoda Weyr, wire-wrapped jewelry and décor; Betsy Wing, print maker and author, and Jess Wrobel, rug hooker and fiber artist.

    On Saturday, Arts Interaction Day, these 13 artists will be demonstrating their work and talking about the methods they use to create their art: Bill Bellows, Jill Butke, Rick Dickinson, Sue Heil Kibbe,  Leslie Muir-Volpe, John M.T. Seitzer, Ursula Smith, Christine Andersen Tupper, Kim Villard, Carl Welshman, Rhoda Weyr and Jess Wrobel.

    Also on Interaction Day, Heidi Leighton of Lost Dogs will have her stand at the show offering all kinds of hot dogs (including chili dogs) and toppings.
