Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor elections and town meetings

It’s election time in Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor.  

Boothbay Harbor voters will take to the polls at the town office on Friday, May 3 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to elect town and school officials. The annual town meeting will be held Saturday, May 4, beginning at 9 a.m. in the fire station. 

Voting in Boothbay will take place Monday, May 6, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the Boothbay Town Office. Voters will elect officials and decide on the warrant by secret ballot.

Boothbay Harbor elections 

Incumbent Kenneth Rayle is running against Frank “Linc” Sample III for a selectboard seat. Sewall Maddocks Jr. is running against Thomas Minerich for a seat on the CSD Board of Trustees. Neither Maddocks nor Minerich is on the board. 

The other four seats up for election have current board members as the only candidates: Stephanie Hawke on the CSD School Board; James Stormont on the Boothbay Harbor Sewer District Board of Trustees; Howard Friant on the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Cemetery District Board of Trustees; and Nell Tharpe for an at-large seat on the Boothbay Region Water District Board of Trustees. 

Boothbay elections 

Trevor Morin and Jennifer Whitney are running to succeed John Bertolet as a Community School District School Superintending member. 

All other municipal races are uncontested. There are two expiring Board of Selectmen seats. Incumbents Dale Harmon and Steve Lewis are seeking re-election. Other incumbents seeking re-election: Nell Tharpe, at-large Boothbay Region Water District Board of Trustees; and Troy Lewis, Community School District Board of Trustees. Clarence “Scott” Campbell III is running for an open seat on the Boothbay/Boothbay Harbor Cemetery District Board of Trustees.
