Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club

Excitement ruled the morning Saturday as shoppers and bargain hunters queued up for the opening of the 61st Rotary Auction. And what fun we all had! On behalf of the 70 community leaders who are members, the Rotary Club extends its thanks to the entire community who make donations and future commitments of support and to the many volunteers who turn out to load and carry and organize and make it all happen. A special thank you to Auctioneer Bob Foster who has donated his time and expertise for 25 years conducting the live auction. One auction goer was heard to say, “I never knew what a Rotarian was until I saw you all in action!” Thanks also to co-chairs Debbie Graves and Laurie Zimmerli for all their leadership, and to every Rotarian who has given time, talent and muscle for a year in preparation.

Your local club is part of the larger family of Rotary International with 35,000 clubs and 1.2 million members around the world and occupies a seat at the United Nations. The Boothbay Harbor Rotary has donated nearly $500,000 to charitable causes with 78 percent being spent in our community and 22 percent being used globally. All is done with minimal administrative costs.

The Rotary Club meets every Thursday evening at 6 at the clubhouse on Montgomery Road. All who are interested in the work of Rotary in this community and around the world are invited to come to a meeting for fun and fellowship and to learn more of what Rotary is all about.
