Spring. I think it's really here. The spring peepers are singing, daffodils are blooming and The Big, Gray Rotary Barn is open, two Saturdays in a row now. Yes, every Saturday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. until sometime in December. We are taking donations. Just call Deb at 207-380-3550 for pick up or drop off plans.

For our meeting this Thursday,  we welcome Emily Rabbe, executive director of the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission. She has worked with county officials to provide land use, transportation and environmental resilience planning. She has also worked on the county’s housing needs assessment which was released in May 2023. This will be the primary focus of her talk. We're delighted to welcome Emily Rabbe to hear about possible solutions to this important issue.

Last Thursday was our annual meeting at the Harbor Theater. We shared a light potluck dinner, then we watched a wonderful, engrossing film about the life of the Jamaican Reggae singer and songwriter Bob Marley.  He overcame poverty and adversity to write and perform his message of love and unity. The music was fun to hear, but Bob Marley’s life story is very powerful. Thank you Harbor Theater for sharing this film and for all you do to make our community richer.

Teacher Appreciation Night is this Friday from 3-5ish. Nancy and Charlotte could use our help. Just drop them an email or text.

If you're interested in the fun and work of Rotary join us any Thursday at 6 p.m. at our clubhouse, 66 Montgomery Road, Boothbay Harbor. You'll be glad you did.
