Wed, 05/01/2019 - 1:30pm

Boothbay lacrosse rallied from a two-goal deficit April 30 to defeat Oceanside, 6-4, in a schoolgirl contest in Rockland. Three Lady Seahawks accounted for all six goals. Hannah and Reagan Cola and Chloe Arsenault each scored two goals. Arsenault also assisted on one. The Seahawks overcame a 4-2 halftime deficit and disadvantage of not playing with any substitutes for the entire game.

Boothbay coach Bill Goldenberg credited the team defense for controlling play throughout the contest. “Defenders Lilley Harris, Maddie Barter, and Kylie Brown played great in shutting down the Oceanside attack. Hali Goodwin and Cortney Meader played a strong transition game capturing several ground balls. Emily Echols, Emilie Crocker and Journey Bennett were scrappy in the offensive end keeping alive several possessions."

Boothbay is 1-1. Oceanside falls to 0-2. Boothbay’s next game is Friday, May 3 as the Lady Seahawks travel to China for a game against Erskine Academy (0-2).
