Boothbay Region students making Community Connections

Fri, 03/23/2018 - 7:30am

The third annual Community Connections will be held on Wednesday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Boothbay Region High School gymnasium. This event focuses on connecting students in grades 8 through 12 with local businesses and community organizations.

Community Connections organizers Brooke Newberg (BRHS guidance director), Pauline Dion (Boothbay Sea and Science Center president, executive director), and George Schimert (Boothbay Harbor Country Club executive chef) have once again joined forces to create this unique event that offers students the opportunity to learn more about local job and volunteer opportunities and to explore, firsthand through conversation, future career paths.

According to the organizers, keeping our community a place where our youth are connected, feel a deep sense of belonging and know that they are valued are the guiding principles upon which this event is built.

For more information about Community Connections and/or to register for the event, email Brooke Newberg at bnewberg@csd3-brhs.org or Pauline Dion at pacojoes2@aol.com on or before Monday, April 9.
