Call for Boothbay Lights volunteers

Thu, 11/01/2018 - 8:45am

This year there are two distinctive opportunities to volunteer during Boothbay Lights and we are looking for your help! Whether you are part of an organization, student group or non-profit who would like to staff the Shuttle Station; maybe you enjoy talking about and sharing information pertaining to our beautiful peninsula.

    The Shuttle Station

Do you know or are you part of an organization, student group or non-profit that’s looking to raise funds and/or exposure about your mission? We are looking for you to volunteer as a Shuttle Station Ambassador. The 2018 Boothbay Lights Shuttle Station will be located again at the Boothbay Harbor Town Lot, but we are changing our area to get out of the elements with an adorable shed building from our sponsors at Shed City in Warren. The shuttle station building will be open on all evenings the shuttle runs, but we are only looking to have volunteer Ambassadors at the station on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout Boothbay Lights.

Each group/organization will have a small table to be set up inside the festively decorated shuttle station where they can raise money with bake sales or other fundraising ideas. Perhaps you would like only to raise awareness about what your organization does in the region and want to share information to visitors. Or, why not do both? You’ll also get to interact with the visitors waiting to jump on the Gardens Aglow shuttle and answer any questions they might have while visiting during Boothbay Lights. General information will be provided for the volunteers and our Downtown Map, which is new for 2018, will be available for visitors at the station.

    Boothbay Lights Information Table

The Boothbay Lights Committee is partnering with the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens to offer an Information Table inside the new welcome center at CMBG during Gardens Aglow. Grab a friend or a loved one and sign up to welcome visitors who may have questions about events, places, and other general questions. This volunteer(s) will be able to utilize the new Downtown Map to help provide information all while getting to meet many of the visitors who travel from all over the country to come visit our region during this holiday season. A great opportunity to be a community ambassador for our fantastic region and share in the holiday spirit.
