Tue, 10/31/2017 - 7:15am

The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a new lighting contest to help celebrate the 32nd annual Harbor Lights Festival and the Boothbay Festival of Lights. The new contest, “Light the Shore,” encourages all properties along the harbor shoreline, business and residential, to show their holiday spirit by decorating and lighting up their properties, docks and floats.

The Chamber will award prizes for first, second and third place. The lights and decorations must be up by Dec. 1 when the judging will take place. The winner will be announced at the Harbor Lights Festival Lighted Boat Parade Party. Businesses and residents are encouraged to use their imagination and show visitors and residents alike, the special community Christmas spirit here in our region.

The Chamber suggests using solar lights that can be purchased through Amazon and available in a variety of colors. For more information or to register for the contest, please call Kathrine Norcott at the Chamber, 633-2353.
