Community Lunch Jan. 8: Snow doesn’t deter diners

Tue, 01/09/2024 - 8:15am

Paula Warford of Shore Hills Campground was looking out the windows of Brady's Monday, Jan. 8 worried her food for almost 100 would not get eaten. Almost 10 inches of snow from the storm Sunday was piled high along the roadsides and her concern the masses may still be digging out would prevent them from showing up to eat her homemade baked beans, coleslaw, hot dogs, mac and cheese, and over 100 of Dianne Carroll's famous dinner rolls.

The worry was absolute nonsense! Over 80 people attended with some new faces and the Boothbay Harbor road crews who were welcomed with big "thank yous" for their previous 24 hours of hard work keeping the roads clear.

Next week's lunch will be hosted by the Boothbay Region Dart League. There is a pretty substantial rumor that Todd Plummer will be making his always popular American chop suey.

See you there!!
