The Center for Teaching and Learning in Edgecomb is honored to announce that, after a lengthy international search, Katy Inman will become Head of School, beginning July 1. This marks an exciting new chapter for the three-decade-old, independent K-8 school.

Inman is currently middle school director at the K-8 Touchstone Community School in Grafton, Massachusetts. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in English literature from Haverford College, and her master of arts in teaching from Brown University.

At Touchstone, she took on myriad teacher leader and administrative responsibilities, designing curriculum, working closely with families, and collaborating regularly with teachers. Her colleagues describe her as “a magnificent person, a good consensus builder, and a phenomenal leader.” Inman inaugurated the first middle school program at Touchstone and served as chair of the school’s strategic plan steering committee. She has taught reading workshop, writing workshop, outdoor education, and history, and she believes joy is an essential ingredient in all true learning. She considers herself a “specialist in curiosity.”

It is a privilege to welcome Inman, as she brings her creative energy, commitment to progressive education, and love of lifelong learning to CTL. For more information about the school, please visit c-t-l.org or call 882-9706.
