Don’t miss the YMCA’s 14th annual golf tournament

Tue, 06/05/2018 - 9:30am

The Boothbay Region YMCA will host its 14th annual golf tournament to support the Y’s Camp Scholarship Fund on Thursday, June 14 at the Boothbay Harbor Country Club.

The event includes a buffet lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. and will be followed by a shotgun start golf tournament for golfers of all ability levels. Tournament registration fees are $100 for members of the BHCC and $195 for non-members. The deadline to register for the tournament is Thursday, June 7. All proceeds from the event will be used to provide scholarships for summer camp.

Register today to golf for a cause and provide kids from the Boothbay peninsula with the experience of camp. Summer camp provides children and youth with the opportunity to develop new friendships and important life skills including strong character, curiosity, independence, courage, creativity, team work, and leadership in addition to fostering an affinity for nature and an appreciation for physical activity and the outdoors.

“Each year the Boothbay Region YMCA strives to support working families by raising funds for scholarships to help send children to camp. The Y’s goal is to make camp accessible for every family in the community, said Camp Director Shane Hathaway. “Whether it’s swimming, boating, sports, tug of war, singing by the campfire, arts and crafts, or friendships formed, we know that camp matters. It mattered to each of us, and camp continues to matter in the lives of the young people we serve every year.”
