What better way to celebrate the season than enjoying your favorite holiday family films on the big screen.  This December, Damariscotta’s Lincoln Theater will present four free family films on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m.

We begin on Saturday, Dec. 8 with the classic “Miracle on 34th Street” (1947) staring Natalie Wood and Oscar winner Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle, who appears to be h laboring under the delusion that he's the genuine Saint Nick.

Next up, on Saturday, Dec. 15, “The Polar Express” (G), tells the story of Billy (Hayden McFarland), who longs to believe in Santa Claus but finds it quite difficult to do until a mysterious train visits him in the middle of the night.

On Saturday, Dec. 22, “A Christmas Story” (PG), set in the 1940’s, 9-year-old Ralphie wants one thing for Christmas -- an official Red Ryder BB rifle. When his mother, teacher, and even Santa say "You'll shoot your eye out,” Ralph fears that he'll never get the BB gun, but there may be a surprise in store for him.

And just after Christmas, on Saturday, Dec. 29, “Home Alone” (PG) is the highly successful and beloved family comedy about a young boy named Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) who is accidentally left behind when his family takes off for France for the holidays.

Don’t miss these free showings of your holiday family favorites, only at The Lincoln Theater, 2 Theater St., Damariscotta. Call 563-3424 for additional information or visit online at www.lcct.org.
