Dear Editor,

Winter, such as it was, is ending and our area will soon be flooded again. For now, I am grateful for the area I live in and the people who live here. A particular event occurred locally this winter, which sent me back to 2018 and our family's experience with a young driver whose life was changed forever because of a car accident. Then, same as now, the community rallied and helped support us. Please keep the Duncans in your prayers as they continue this difficult journey (gofundme for Jack Duncan Family), and Emma, who continues to try to thrive with the aftermath of such an accident.

Monday, March 18, Brady’s hosted the last Community Lunch for the year. Many thanks to Jennie, Tancy, their crew and my church family at Our Lady Queen of Peace (who sponsored this last meal). Having worked in food service I understand the time, money and effort they supply, for free, is unbelievably priceless, we are so lucky to have them.

I am not from here, but consider myself extremely lucky to be living on this  beautiful peninsula with people who care about each other.

Remember, be kind to people, you have no idea what they are going through.
