Kathy Blagdon, supervisor at Lincoln County Communications Center, has been recognized for her 33 years of service and outstanding performance in her career and has been named “Supervisor of the Year” by the Atlantic Chapter of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO).

The chapter held its annual conference and awards banquet at the Samoset Resort in Rockport Oct. 24.

Blagdon’s accomplishments are too numerous to list, but she contributes in many ways to the LCCC operations as the training coordinator, EMD and EFD coordinator and active member of NENA and the Maine Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (ME-TERT). Blagdon has been instrumental in developing Lincoln County’s Contingency Action Plan, which will guide the county in the event it has an emergency of its own.

County Commissioners Chair Mary Trescot said, “Kathy is such a valuable member of our Communications team.  Her depth of knowledge and experience are invaluable and we are so happy that she has received this recognition from her peers.” Trescot attended the awards ceremony.

APCO Atlantic covers Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.
