The Boothbay Region Health Center announces its second annual "Cure Your Spring Fever" fundraiser. Once again, this year's event will be held at the Tugboat Inn Restaurant the day before it opens for the season on Thursday, April 18 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Boothbay Region Health Center in the Meadow Mall and at the Tugboat Inn office. Tickets are $30 each ($35 if purchased at the door). But there are a limited number of tickets, so buy yours now.

The event will feature wine, beer, soda, and heavy hors d'oeuvres, along with music and the opportunity to bid on “get ready for spring in Boothbay” garden and yard care items, gifts related to health and exercise, personal and pet care, spring cleaning, preparing for visitors, and local shopping, dining and entertainment options.

Come celebrate the successes of your community's patient-run local Health Center:

• Grew from 750 patients to over 1,200 in its first year of operation
• Expanded from 1 doctor and 1 Nurse Practitioner (NP) to 2 MDs, 4 NPs, & 4 Health Coordinators
• Operates seven days/week with free, volunteer-supplied transportation
• Runs a Senior Wellness & Exercise program: Fit, Flexible & Strong
• Provides patient education (Empowered Patients) in cooperation with the Community Center
• Opening a Recovery Clinic for substance misuse & abuse Tuesday & Thursday evenings
• Financially supported by health insurance, patients, grants, and the generous contributions of community members to provide a local, independent, community-owned primary and preventive care option on the Boothbay peninsula
