It’s all about fiber art this winter

Local artisans have joined together to present their fiber creations for the months of January and February at the Southport Memorial Library.

Creations made from knitting, rug hooking, rug braiding, needlepoint, cross stich, quilting and hand sewn articles are displayed. Donations of family owned pieces are also exhibited.

The participants in this show consist of members of the Tuesday Handiwork Group, The Possibilities Shop of Southport, the Cape Newagen Alpaca Farm and locals, the Hooking Artisans.

Please come to the library to enjoy the works of Linda Brewer, Ursula Smith, Jean Hawley, Marie Oates, Hazel Upham, Barbara Lally, Kathy Bugbee, Lynn Schafer, Ann Gobes, Miriam Wade, Sally Giantris, Patty Colhoun, Karen Curtis and Elaine Fearnside.

The library’s winter hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday 6-8 p.m.
