Boothbay Region Land Trust

It’s a celebration and you’re invited

Fri, 06/22/2018 - 7:15am

Join Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) on Saturday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the grand opening of Oak Point Farm. The newly acquire preserve that also serves as BRLT headquarters has a new access road, trails and a kiosk, and is ready for you to explore. Come celebrate with us!

We will kick-off the event with a pinecone hunt from 10-11 a.m. for all ages. Colored pinecones will result in various prizes including BRLT merchandise, field guides, artist prints of BRLT preserves, and gift certificates from local businesses. After prizes are awarded, food will be available from the renowned Taco the Town food truck of Brunswick.

Activities and lawn games will be offered throughout the afternoon, as well as a self-guided tour of the trail that highlights the natural and historic features of the property. Guests can also get down to the funky tunes of The Spaceheaters who will be performing live music. Although the farmhouse is currently under construction, guided tours of the work will be carried out so visitors have a first-hand understanding of the renovation goals.

This event is free to the public at 60 Samoset Road in Boothbay Harbor. A taco lunch with drink will be provided for $5/person and free for children 15 and under.

RSVP to Boothbay Region Land Trust is encouraged at bbrlt@bbrlt.org or 633-4818.
