This fall John Vander, of Gold/Smith Gallery, was invited to have a solo show at the Foundation of Marino Marini in Pistoia, Italy.

Vander  has said that he is never really finished with a painting unless .... “The deadline of an exhibit pushes me to finish them.” The collection of seven, 4’ x 5’  acrylic paintings are mounted on linen. The exhibition, “Nativita”  opened on Dec. 28. It will run through Jan. 12.

The press release for the show read as follows: “The great canvases of John Vander on display are entirely dedicated to the theme of birth and spirituality. John Vander is American painter who lives half the year in Tuscany. His painting is continuous research of vital and spiritual expression through light, colors and an imaginary vision of reality.”
