Don’t miss Rodgers and Hammerstein’s multi-award winning and critically acclaimed The King And I, coming to the big screen at the Lincoln Theater, Nov. 29 and Dec. 8. This Lincoln Center Theater’s production comes to the big screen captured live from the stage of London’s iconic Palladium.

Set in 1860’s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children.

With one of the finest scores ever written including “Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Getting to Know You,” and “Shall We Dance,” and featuring a company of over 50 world-class performers, “The King and I” is a testament to the lavish heritage of gloriously romantic musical theater – it is one of the greatest musicals from the golden age of musicals.

Reprising her Tony Award-winning role, ‘Broadway musical’s undisputed Queen’ (The Sunday Times) Kelli O’Hara (Anna) takes to the stage alongside Tony and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (The King) in a "powerhouse" (The Times) performance. Also returning to her Tony Award-winning role as Lady Thiang is Ruthie Ann Miles.

Playing Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m., with a matinee screening on Saturday, December 8 at 1 p.m.  Tickets, $15/adults, $13/theater members, $5/youth 18 & under, are available through the theater office at 563-3424 or at the door starting at 6 p.m.

Don’t miss this singular opportunity to see one of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s finest works at Lincoln Theater, 2 Theater Street, Damariscotta.  Come prepared to whistle more than one happy tune.
