Larry Brown to be honored at 2018 Lobster Roll 5K

Mon, 07/02/2018 - 1:15pm

At this year’s Lobster Roll 5K, we will honor Police and School Resource Officer Larry Brown.

Community On Track would like to recognize and honor Larry for his commitment to the youth of this community. Larry Brown’s community presence is constant. Each year he volunteers countless hours at the YMCA, in our schools and at many community sponsored events. Our schools and community are lucky to have someone so dedicated to the health and welfare of its students and citizens. He has been involved in the Lobster Roll 5K and every other race in town as far back as most can remember. Larry plays an integral role each year in helping us plan to ensure a safe race for everyone. The YMCA recognized Larry in 2016 as an award winner for character development and the Maine School Board Association awarded him a Distinguished Service Award in 2017. Now it’s our turn!

Please join us on Saturday, July 28 to congratulate Larry at the awards ceremony following the Lobster Roll 5K. Or better yet, visit www.lobsterroll5k.weebly.com to register, lace up your running or walking shoes and enjoy some exercise with fellow community members and visitors to the region. You’ll be able to say “Hi” and congratulate him on the way by as he directs traffic and runners during the race. If you’re a procrastinator you can always register on race day, July 28 starting at 6:30 a.m. The race starts at 8 a.m. followed by the Kid’s Fun Run. We hope to see you there!
