Managing your diabetes over the holidays

Thu, 11/01/2018 - 7:30am

LincolnHealth Registered Dietitian Joan Atkinson will share tips on how to maintain control over your eating habits during the holidays at the Diabetes Support Group meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. The group will meet in the Diabetes Education Room on the third floor of the hospital on the LincolnHealth - Miles Campus in Damariscotta.

“The average American will gain 8 to10 pounds during the holiday season,” commented LincolnHealth Registered Dietitian Joan Atkinson. “During our time together we will explore cooking strategies and identify tips and ways to replace those temping sweets for scrumptious vegetable and fruit dishes.”

The LincolnHealth Diabetes Support Group meets every other month on the fourth Thursday to allow participants to share experiences and to know that they do not have to deal with diabetes alone. The November meeting is on the third Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving.
