Vibratory roller work is necessary for placing pavement and compacting the gravel, so expect noise; and foundation work for the traffic mast arm on Middle Street North will continue.

New gravel fill will be placed and compacted; Water Street North from US Route 1 to Trifles 2 will be paved; the Railroad Avenue and US Route 1 intersection area will be paved. Thursday, June 13: The contractor will fine grade and pave the area around Water Street South and US Route 1 near Sarah’s Cafe. New gravel fill will be placed and compacted. Three inches of pavement will be placed. Vibratory roller work is necessary for placing pavement and compacting the gravel,  so  expect noise. If possible, the contractor paving crew may put a second layer of pavement on US Route 1. If things are going well next week, the contractor may also try to pave the lot by the Pier, near Sprague’s.

For next week:

The contractor will begin foundation work for the traffic mast arm near Red’s Eats; complete the second layer of pavement on US Route 1; complete the second layer of pavement on the side roads; remove sidewalks and prepare for granite curb placement; pour concrete for the controller cabinet near Trifles; and place electrical conduit where the sidewalk has been removed.
