Three Lincoln County courthouse employees are running for re-election unopposed: Rebecca Wotton,  Registrar of Deeds, Catherine Moore, Registrar of Probate, and Richard Newell, Treasurer. All three are running as Republicans.

Wotton, of Bristol, is seeking her third term. She has worked in the Deeds Office for 25 years, first as a clerk, then as Deputy Registrar for seven years. She is married. Her youngest son is starting at Lincoln Academy. Wotton’s grandmother served as Registrar in the 1980s.

Moore, of Jefferson, is running for her second term. She began serving in the Deeds Office in 2006, served as Deputy Registrar, and then won a three-way write-in campaign for Registrar in 2014.

Newell, of Newcastle, is seeking a third term. He is married. He has spent his entire career in the financial world, spanning almost 30 years. In addition to his work for the county, Newell also serves as pastor to the Newcastle-Alna Baptist Church and Christ Church.
