Once again the BRWD has done an outstanding job of getting seasonal water to all its customers, again many thanks for your effort. We can all start the opening process and the beginning of our season. The season is slow in arriving due to the ever-changing and unseasonal temperatures. If you are returning from a warm climate I’m sure you must be wondering when spring will appear!

There is exciting news from Sue Clark which you may have seen on “All Things Ocean Point.” Her announcement was what we have all been anxiously anticipating and that is the launching her new book, “Past Collections of Ocean Point, Maine.” Eight years ago, Sue published her first book, “Past Images of Ocean Point” which was so well received by not only the Ocean Point community but by so many others as well. The book focused on the design and building of the cottages that were developed in the early years of Ocean Point.

“Past Collections of Ocean Point” captures day-to-day life at Ocean Point in the same time period. Sue spent an extensive amount of time researching, cataloging and compiling many images, collections, maps and newspaper articles that are included in her book and contain over 450 photos (no duplicates) and 230 newspaper articles. Many Ocean Pointers offered to share their collections with Sue to include in her book and she kindly acknowledges all those who shared their keepsakes both in the book and on the Facebook page. Sue has already had an enormous response to her announcement and this book will no doubt be at the top of everyone’s list to purchase. You may contact Sue at latitude43designs@hotmail.com to purchase your copy; if you do not have her first book I urge you to purchase this as well. Copies of Past Collections are $80. Plus $7 for shipping and $1 for each additional book. “Past Images” is now back in stock for $60 plus shipping charges. The book is available exclusively from Sue.

I know I speak for many when I express gratitude and thanks for sharing your beautiful publication with all of us. Congratulations Sue, we know it will quickly become a best seller and treasured by many for years to come.

Congratulations to Ocean Pointers Mary Rush and Caroline Driscoll who completed the Boston Marathon last week. Mary ran in last year’s race but this was Caroline’s first; each ran a tremendous race.

There is exciting news from the Cass family; daughter Maura and her husband Derek Lasher are the proud parents of baby girl, Whitney Grace, born March 13. Congratulations to grandparents Helene and Paul. Our Horribles parade participants is ever growing!

We’re fast approaching graduation season and acceptances at colleges. Congratulations to Kyle Rush who was accepted and will be attending Bentley University in the fall. Quite a few of our Ocean Pointers are completing a successful freshman year and many will be returning to Ocean Point for the summer. Kate Lindley is completing her first year at Tufts University and will take on the responsibility of assistant AD and tennis coach; we’re all very excited by that announcement.

I hope to catch up with many of you in the upcoming weeks; have a great week!
